Luzi Bombón: a modern brasserie with a warm a comfortable ambiance
Although opened just a few months ago, Luzi Bombón has become one of the coolest restaurants in Madrid´s night agenda. This modern brasserie, opened every day from noon to 2.30 am, is located in Paseo de la Castellana 35, just a stone´s throw from Madrid’s Golden Mile, the shopping hub of the most exclusive shops.
The first thing I liked when I entered Luzi Bombón was the atmosphere, simple but chic. Its aesthetics is an interpretation of domestic furniture from the 1950’s and combines warm materials such as wood and textiles with smooth tones. The large hinged iron and glass doors of the façade, that open onto a garden, alongside the light, also contribute to create this warm and comfortable ambiance.
The oyster bar and its delicious cocktails
The second thing I liked about Luzi Bombón was its delicious cocktails. I suggest you to try their Mojitos but they also have incredible signature creations, such as Bloody Bombón and Pisco Luzi. This is for me the perfect prelude for a good meal: to sit at Luzi Bombón´s bar -an oyster bar, by the way- and sip a delicious cocktail. The bar is the heart of the place and organizes around it all the atmospheres and levels. A set of planes of different intertwining materials break the volume’s heaviness and monotony of the place.

The restaurant, the kitchen and the general atmosphere
From there, you have a perfect view of the restaurant -organized in two levels and that always allows the visuals to the front garden- and of the kitchen, located in the back. This last one becomes a light box facing the dining room, screened by vertical wooden slats. Between the bar and the kitchen, at the highest area of the restaurant, tables and small sofas and dividing screens articulate the space creating the appearance of small dining rooms.
In this same area, where the ceiling is lower, the use of a reflective tensioned material to cover the ceiling brings out the feeling of height and duplicates the vertical slats and the kitchen, thus giving it centre stage. The remainder of the dining room has a felt-like acoustic ceiling which confers a cozy appearance and provides acoustic comfort to the space.
Luzi Bombon´s menu
For dinner, Luzi Bombón proposes a selection of main courses and several “Sides”, that you can choose among a wide range of suggestions and that are also perfect for sharing. Some of the highlights of the menu are the grilled meats and rices as well as a catch of the day. So if you are in Madrid and you are looking for a cozy restaurant with a warm and comfortable ambiance this is the perfect place. Luzi Bombon, just so cool…
